On May 24th 2022, Kerry College welcomed well-renowned photographer Brendan Landy for a talk. Brendan is a native of Listowel and has worked as a photographer for over 30 years.
Brendan’s reputation as a top-quality photographer has taken him all over the globe. Specialising in wedding photography, his creative approach to the practice has set him apart from other photographers. Brendan’s photos are beautifully crafted with creative compositions, elegant posing, clever lighting, and a refined post-production style.
Kerry College was delighted to welcome Brendan to speak to the photography students. It was an excellent opportunity for the students to get an insight into how a top professional photographer approaches his work; Brendan discussing everything from equipment, camera settings, lighting, composition, and how he processes his images.
Through a well-crafted video, the students got a behind-the-scenes insight into a wedding photographer’s day – which was invaluable information for the students and something that you cannot teach in a classroom setting. All who attended the talk were amazed by the quality of Brendan’s work, how open he was with sharing information about his practice and very excited about applying some of the ideas and skills that he shared on the day.
Hopefully, the college will welcome Brendan back next year.
