Kerry Education and Training Board (Kerry ETB) in hosting a visit by the Ambassador of State of Palestine Mr. Ahmad Abdelrazek to the Kerry College Monavalley Campus. This visit has been organised following an invitation extended by An Cathaoirleach of Kerry ETB Mr. Jim Finucane to the Ambassador to visit the centre. Kerry College Monavalley Campus provides an extensive traineeships and apprenticeship programme with provision for Wind Turbine Maintenance, Carpentry and Joinery, Mechanical Automation and Maintenance Fitting, Motor Mechanics, Electrical, Plastering, Plumbing, Overhead Lines Technicians, Fibre Installation Technician, Commis Chef, etc.
During this visit to the centre the Ambassador will meet with the Kerry ETB Further Education and Training management team and have a guided tour of the centre provided by Mr. Owen O’Donnell Director of Further Education and Training of Kerry ETB. The purpose of the visit is to provide an opportunity for the Ambassador to view this modern Training Centre and its full range of provision in operation. Opportunities for future collaboration will also be discussed.
The CEO of Kerry ETB Mr. Colm McEvoy in welcoming the Ambassador Mr. Ahmad Abdelrazek will give an overview of Kerry ETB addressing the range of provision across the county. Currently Kerry ETB engages with 12,304 learners/apprenticeship/trainees annually from Level 1 – 6 on the National Framework of Qualifications.
Commenting in advance of the visit An Cathaoirleach Mr. Jim Finucane stated “We are delighted to welcome the Ambassador to visit our Training Centre and provide the Ambassador with an opportunity to discuss the programmes that we provide and see the facilities that we have to support the delivery of our programmes. I hope the Ambassador finds the visit informative and we look forward to further engagement and exploring opportunities for future collaboration”.
